Premier Predictor

Reckon you're the next English Premier League super pundit? Well then Footy Mania's Premier Predictor is the place to pit your predicting skills!

The Scoring

OVERALL PRIZE

Every week, you'll have the chance to guess the winner (or draw if you wish) and scorline of three key matches. Once the matches are over, you'll earn points for your predictions. This is how the scoring works:

  • 0 points: For not predicting the winner correctly (Predicting Man Utd will beat Chelsea but Chelsea wins)
  • 2 points: For predicting the winner, or draw correctly
  • 3 points: For predicting the winner and margin of victory correctly (Predicting Chelsea will win 2-1, but Chelsea wins 1-0. You can not get this selection of points for guessing a draw)
  • 5 points: For predicting the winner or draw scoreline correctly (Predicting Chelsea win 1-0 and Chelsea win 1-0)

There will also be a Bonus Matches every week where double points are available. For example, if you correctly guess the scoreline and winner, then you will score 10 points instead of the usual five.

A new feature is the Underdog Match, which will hopefully encourage you to be bold with your predictions. The underdog bonus awards double points if you predict that the weaker team in the match involved will get a result. For example, if Arsenal play Fulham, Fulham would be considered as the underdog. Whilst many people will predict an Arsenal win to be safe, the underdog match means that if you predict a Fulham win or a draw, you will collect double the points on offer. Sound confusing? It should become clearer as the season progresses - but please email me if you have any queries.

So technically, you could win up to 25 points in one week if you're incredibly bold and lucky!

The Leaderboards

The overall leaderboard shows a tally of all the predictors' points over the season. Simply enough, whoever has the most points come May wins Premir Predictor!

Every month, however, there will be a monthly winner, where the person who collected the most points in that month is announced the winner of the month. It is possible for more than one person to win in that months should their points be tied.
